Just booked a trip to FL. Airplane tickets are cheap.

Where was all the panic around the flu in the past years? Hoarding TP?

My "panic' was assuaged by the fact that my doctor administered a flu vaccine.

Hopeful plans for Dublin in May -- watching Great Britain and Republic of Ireland health status with interest. Family/friends with health careers are concerned about lack of test kits. Just saying. VP on news saying there's a serious lack of test kits - not enough to handle future demand.

Just heard on the news the first patient in my city has been confirmed to have the virus.  They are a patient in world known hospital.  My brother and many friends of mine work there.  No one is panicking.

If  EVERYONE  would just  STOP traveling for a while,maybe it would be able to be contained!!

I'm not saying ,"FOREVER"  but at least let it get controlled and contained!!!

If they had stopped ALL flights,in and out of CHINA  at the very first notice of it, it would not becomming a PANDEMIC!!!

JMO.......

7 weeks ago there were 150 world wide deaths

Today there are over 2,000

@crazered

I agree with your husband. Driving to the airport is probably a greater risk, along with driving wherever Disney World is located. Think Disney Land is in California, but I don't keep up with it.

If I ever went on a "vacation", it must have been when I was too young to remember it. I got what they call "vacation days" from work, which increased in number of days with years of service with the company. Retired with 5 weeks of "vacation days", usually took those days in part of November and all of December. Never considered it "a vacation", just days off of work.

Not interested in traveling unless it is to MSG to see my NY Rangers hockey games. Not a vacation to me, just going to a hockey game. Traveled the Midwest for close to 20 years auto racing. Vacation? Nope, usually got back home in time to work my night shifts.

Were I a traveling person now? No virus would keep me from sticking with my plans unless for some strange reason I was going to China. My nephew, who is a medical doctor, is in South Korea as I type this. Vacation? Beats me, but my sister told me his there now. He does however own a Pain Clinic there, maybe a business trip.

I don't have any plans to change. I'm just dreading going to Wal Mart here in a bit.

@KKlim-----I live near ground zero---in WA state--in fact that nursing home and hospital are 15 minutes away from me.  I go to that hospital for everything--all my drs are there,so I am a little more concerned than normal--and am 65 but healthy----- I listen to the local health experts here and not from the idiots back east especially the one that has a "hunch" all this is not a big deal---- I guess until one of them gets sick---then maybe they will change their tune-----

We might be neighbors, @wagirl.  We are trying to decide whether we will stay in AZ for another month or head home.  I can't recall seeing that nursing home before.
