That's always my worry with fresh broccoli - how to make sure it comes with no insects or - worse - worms.  Smiley Surprised

I am sure everyone has eaten insects in their foods unaware...even vegans.

I just try not to think about it.  Some red food coloring is made from insects and is added on purpose.

And, all figs have insects in the fruit.

Re: Trader Joe Soup recall

@ValuSkr  Hahaha! My DD always forked up her broccoli with trepidation after she found a dead spider at the bottom of a  bowl of steamed home-grown broccoli. I didn't tell her about all the cabbage worms I picked out (and sometimes missed) of the broccoli.

🐱 Good thing Trader Joe's doesn't operate a fleet of food trucks.

@Carmie

Tell me more.  I grew up eating lots of figs - 5 trees in the back yard - and never saw an insect in the fruit.  I do remember that the trees were often full of ants who were drawn to the sweet fruit.

Well bugs are being promoted as the new food source.🤣

Maybe TJ is trying to gauge if this would work.  You know - sneak in a bit of bug here and there and hope it won't be noticed.😜

@shoesnbags   I love figs and grew up eating them too.  I looked into planting a fig tree in my back yard and learned way too much about them.  I was better off not knowing.
