It was a fun place to take kids. We bought a lot of Nintendo games there in th 90's.

I stopped going there because they let their electronic/gaming section go downhill

We have two grandchildren, but don't go there very often. For one thing, I don't like their return policy, and I think I've only made one or two returns in the past 30 years. They now require that you allow them to input your driver's license information into their system. I don't mind showing ID. But, they end up having your credit card AND driver's license ID in their records. That's a hackers dream! In fact, we've boycotted them the last two holiday seasons, for that very reason.
And, I'm sure it's a financial thing. But, the two times we took the grandkids there this summer, there was no air conditioning. We spent about 10 minutes in there and left.

I read it in the paper this weekend. I thought the store parking lot always looked full. Maybe our store does well, who knows. Time not a fan of the store. My sister liked to shop there when her kids were young. I went with her a couple times.

I have fun memories of doing my daughters Christmas shopping at toys r us back in the 80s. Last time I went into the same store was 2 years ago to buy some Christmas gifts for my grandsons. I found the store dark an depressing. Not the light, bright atmospherre that I remembered from years past, just old, dark and worn feeling. I now order all of their gifts from Amazon.

i have 1 an hour away. I went this summer for toddler toys and outfits. My 9 year old grandson is now looking on line and making out his birthday and Christmas list for me. Toys R Us is an easy 1 stop for me as I can get what the 3 youngsters want. I also like Baby's R Us. It is a nice drive and while there I run down the road to my favorite undergarment store.

Not too surprised, last time I shopped there I found the prices unattractive. Don't know too many people that shop there either......

I read that too. Maybe, the holiday season will help out.

I haven't heard about it, but I plan on looking it up in a bit.
That's upsetting news. We have a beautiful (and large!) Toys R Us/Babies R Us combined in my community. My girls are still little (3 and 6), so we do quite a bit of shopping there for holidays, birthdays, etc. It's always pretty busy, so I'm hoping they stay open.

I only shopped online from TRU during the holiday season so I'll shop Amazon. Guess it's just a sign of the times. Our local mall looks as if it's ready to close up any day, one anchor store remains.
