This was probably the hardest episode for me to watch. It was so sad to say good bye to Dale. He won me over, as a fan, with brilliant cooking laced w/fun. I really thought he was a contender, but undercooked potatoes did him in.
I liked the Quickfire Challenge but hated the results. The fact that Antonia, yet again, had the best dish but didn't get a win because of a technicality bugged me. ( Or is it foreshadowing that she makes it to the end? and wins) But what really bugged me was Mike Isabella was not being DQ'd for stealing someone's dish. Even to go as far as plating it the same way as what was in Blaise's book. I realize the judges were not aware of the background. Blaise showed a lot of class and handled it better than I would have. Kinda reminds me of the Pea Puree incident last season.
The Elimination Challenge was interesting. It was ironic that the Southern Chefs (Tiffany and Carla) struggled with it. Dale and Angelo were out their element with this one and it showed. I was happy Blaise won and in another classy gesture said he would take Fabio on the trip. As much as I liked the judges, John Besh and Paula Deen, I missed Anthony Bourdain more.
I am hoping for a Blaise, Carla and Antonia Final 3.
