Yes, pretty warm here in central TX this week too. One can only imagine what this summer is going to bring ... I think it's going to be a long hot summer ....

The last time we had an El nino year it was cold and rainy all winter as is this year - then we had a terribly hot, humid, unbearable summer. That was 2010. I only remember because we bought our house that year and having to do all that work unpacking and making everything as we wanted it  through all that heat was horrible. We brought 70+ very large boxes to our new home  plus furniture of course. We moved in July 3rd. Since it was a brand new build we had to put up shelves and ceiling fans and chandeliers. Basically make the basic house livable. Then we had to decorate - hang pictures and things like that. In that heat it felt like the work was never ending. Every afternoon we went to the pool to cool off but the water was so warm from the sun it didn't really help, then we discovered that they cool the water at the YMCA pool in the summer and keep it at 82. Delightful.

We had a high today in  the Albuquerque area of 75°, smashing the high temp record for the date.   It should be in low 50's.  Roswell,  NM got up to 91°.

If it's this warm in February,  what's summer going to be like?

Record breaking temps in PHX, too.    Not only the high numbers......but the earliest this has ever happend.    Weatherman says it's only "temporary".......uh huh.........seems like I've heard this before..................

@Desertdi   Hi Di,  Yes,  that is warm early.   I went to Tucson with parents in their RV one year the first week of April.   It was very pleasant but the next week,  after we left,  it got hot and of course didn't abate until fall.   That place,  Arizona,  is too hot for me.

I was also in Tucson in April one time.  It was 30 - 31 years ago and it was very late in the month (around the 28th).  I don't remember the entire weeks weather, but one day temps hit 112.  I just assumed that was normal.  Maybe it is.  Too hot for me as well!

I am in southern West Virginia; the sun is bright, and it is currently 40 degrees.   Our expected high today is about 53 degrees.   We started the week with temps in the teens, and 7 inches of new snow.
