Toni's Favorite Apple Crisp

[ Edited ]

@cimeranrose @SportyShorty07

For this recipe you will need :   one 8" square baking pan

                                                     four cups of peeled apple

                                                      slices

                                                     1 tsp. cinnamon

                                                     1/4 cup water

                           For topping:       1 cup sugar

                                                      3/4 cup sifted flour

                                                      1/3 cup soft butter

Spread apple slices in pan. sprinkle with cinnamon and water.

With pastry blender or two knives, cut butter into sugar and flour, until crumbly

Spread mixture over apples. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

This is so good served warm with vanilla ice cream.

When it is cold, after refrigeration, I like it with whipped cream. You could also reheat in microwave, if desired.

(I don't bother to sift the flour)

@chrystaltree   You are very welcome.

                          It does smell like apple pie, but it's so

                       much easier to prepare.

@cimeranrose  You are very welcome.  I like it best, warm with

                        vanilla ice cream. It is also good cold, with

                        whipped cream.

Re: Toni's Favorite Apple Crisp

Perfect fall treat, @Enufstuff !   Mmm, can smell it now.

How do you feel about it with brown sugar?  I love brown sugar.  I usually use that in fruit crisps and crumbles, but should try your white too...
