My wife had a half dozen plants a few days ago and after the winds and hail? Nary a one of them survived.

Donna, tell Mr Donna that the mint keeps the ants away. I have it running wild all over my garden too.

Wonderful to stick a sprig in fruit salads. My favorite drink is the Alfred, grapefruit juice with a mint sprig and any or no hooch.

Reminding everyone to plant non GMO seeds and plants.

My basil is doing good - it always does though. I plants some lemon basil this year. So good.

I have a bunch of mint too. The chocolate mint smells wonderful!

I have mint and lemon balm running wild all over Smiley Happy I like it -- my husband does not.

LOL Same here with some oregano plantings my neighbor gave me years ago. It's like a weed, you just can't get rid of it!

Every time we mow over it, it smells like an Italian restaurant. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

My Goddaughter was all excited about planing oregano in her yard. I warned her!

Isn't that something Maggie? I have always had tomatoes and never had a problem with birds. We had a gopher roll away a baby watermelon but that's all. I'd call you county extension office and ask them what to do, they like to answer these kind of questions.

Hi JuJu - We never had a problem with birds/tomatoes, either. Nothing really bothered our tomatoes.

Now, raspberries are another story. The birds got most of those.
