We were lucky in our area, i heard more fireworks going off Sunday and only a FEW and none on the actual 4th....I was so glad because its been so dry here and with the dry grass being the perfect tinder to spark a fire.......
Im lucky my cats arent really bothered by fireworks but my poor sister's cat like so many other pets are terrorized by them...hopefully the fireworks are DONE---until New Years 🙄.............

We are in a severe drought. Our county banned certain fireworks (with fins and tails) but not all. We are sleeping with 1 eye open. On Saturday, 2 houses next to each other here at the lake burned to the ground. One of those families lost 3 of their 4 dogs. Last night, another house was burning.

Only safe and sane fireworks are legally allowed but my neighborhood was like a war zone. On all four sides of my house, there were explosive sounds and bursts of light as well as smoke. This has gone on for 3 days. Last night was the worst not ending until 11:00. I did not call the line to report illegal fireworks because I am afraid of reprisals. Very inconsiderate and upsetting for my cat.

The last 3 nights my neighborhood boomed non-stop with big, high fireworks but they stopped promptly at 10:30pm which I thought was considerate.
However, in Albuquerque when the local news came on the air at 4:30am today, the anchors were constantly commenting about hearing fireworks outside the studio. I can't imagine such a lack of consideration by some members of the public. I would've been livid. Its a wonder somebody didn't get beat up.

Well, a family in our community burned there house down due to fireworks. They placed still hot fireworks in cardboard boxes in their garage. They also decided it would be fun to light them off from a floatie in their pool.
The individual who called 911 was a 5 year old child because the ADULTS were too boozed up to do it.
No one was injured except their pets....they died in the fire. Everyone is disgusted with them AND those who attended because booze, young children and fireworks.
No sympathy for them. $3 million dollar house gone. Those in the know say insurance won't cover it. Not sure why but there it is. Apparently this happens every year in our community.
Idiots.

The house behind my daughters caught fire last night. The roof collapsef. My daughter said the police went to each and every home warning about fireworks as the homeowner and his family and their dog stood in the street and watched their house burn. My daughter said that after the cops left, the fireworks started up again.

It's been ridiculous the past few years. Thought I was in a war zone. Never stopped for three hours until it started raining. These were not close but sounded like constant booms - just never stopped. Then there were the nearby fireworks. Usually go on for weeks before but not so bad in advance this year. But I don't know what those huge things are, just constant. Sounds like the grand finale of a fireworks display but no finale goes on for three hours. Luckily it did rain but stopped about 2:30 in the morning. And of course, some neighborhood fools started again. How expensive or inexpensive are fireworks? Would think people could think of better ways to spend their money.
Edited to add: And of course my dog was just frantic. Had medication for her but still was so scared. And of course now, she has diarreah, maybe from the medication. Glad it's over. People are crazy.
