....actually it sounds like OP has too much quiet time.

I guess you would know since you seem to think you know everything. Wish you would stop with your nasty remarks and comments.

Thank you, @RetRN, that was a mouthful of truth.

For me, reading is a "time out" when I am a bit overwhelmed. I read every night before I go to sleep.
So I am always working away at a book, which I save for stressed out moments.
Right now it's _Little Dorrit_ by Charles Dickens. Haven't read it in years. The opening volume is amazing.
I am struggling through vol. 2, last night including the poisoning of a dog, which upset me so much I had a nightmare.
I hope it gets good again. Read it years ago and do remember that it was "uneven."

I am currently reading Miracles from Heaven (I haven't seen the movie) and The Rainbow Comes and Goes (by Anderson Cooper and Gloria Vandebilt). I guess I never knew that reading meant I have too much time on my hands. I find people who read to be very interesting and well informed on many topics. Unlike one person I see on these boards.

Glad to see it's not just me. I'm in a bit of a funk today and don't know why ~ just feel kind of bummed. I went to visit a friend at her antique shop this morning and picked up a couple small trinkets and spent some time chatting with her. That's always good therapy for me! It's raining here A LOT so working in the yard isn't going to happen so I'll do some housework instead. I did go out in the yard with my umbrella and my dogs and feed the fish ~ the raindrops splashing on the pond surface didn't seem to bother them and they were looking for their eats, lol!!! My yard is my peaceful place.... :-)

a day w/your book sounds like a perfect idea, @qualitygal!
there just seems to be always a lot of "stuff" going on. in my head, i know it's just life, but sometimes it just gets wearing.
so to take a step back to regroup has been something i absolutely do.
maybe it's w/my book or maybe a dvd. once in a while it's w/a dish of ice cream & a puzzle.
)
like another poster, i shut off the tv for a bit too; the news can be overwhelming as our news cycles are now 24/7.
spend some time just for you! you deserve it!!

Yes...always there with some snarkiness. Verry tiresome. Totally agree, RN.

Hi, @qualitygal. I hope you did take some time to re-energize yesterday & that it helped. 🌻
