@SeaMaiden wasn't meaning to be harsh, and you maybe were a little unkind in commenting.  She was trying to be encouraging.  People do their best to comfort or inspire others, and that was what she thought might be helpful.  I am sure in no way did she suggest the OP forget a lost child.

At the time we are experiencing each Christmas, we have no idea if it will be our best, or if another one will be even better. I think they are best when we are children, and also when we have little ones to celebrate with.

@goldensrbest the nostalgia can really dominate the season. You have such a tender heart. ❤️ I recognize the sensitive expression of the bitterwseet quality of life so acute as we age and especially in this season.

I hope you can find a better path to continue on in life; you still have a purpose here.

Warm and tender areas of your heart will not diminish; but there are still ways to fill the rest with other experiences.

You are still surrounded by loving and healing light; embrace it and know that you will find a way to still look to this holiday in a new light; wrap yourself in your memories and remember the love.
