I don't think people are trying to inflame this. I have heard two different drs say two different things re this virus today and I have spent a considerable time outside not watching tv. Our experts are not agreeing people. There is a problem. Thinking people are not going to talk about it is not realistic.

@occasionalrain I cannot bear any kind of cruelty to animals,I stew about it for days. Under the Pets title there's a subtitle Pet Chat Corner. It's a great place. It is mainly pet chat and cute photos. There are occasionly pet deaths and illnesses of course. But people there are extremely kind and empathetic with that kind of post. Please check it out,I think you would like it. Lots of kind people,like you, there.

I will just about break my neck trying to find the remote if one of those ASPCA commercials start. Nope, I don't want to view peoples cruelty to animals, or read about sick, hurt or dying animals.

Same! I'm like, "I already gave! What more do you want from meeee. Now whoever is filming that scene put down the dang camera and go help comfort and take care of that sick dog right now!" And the sad music. My empathy circuits get overloaded. I just want to run out and fix it and obviously it's already been fixed.

Really sweet to see so many of us feel similarly about it.

I do the same!

I have actually called them several times and explained to them why that commercial is so wrong and everyone who loves pets and wants to help immediately turns it off and why don't they spend the money more on the animal rescue instead of those awful commercials every time you turn around!!

So it just makes me give to our local (and wonderful) humane society!

Ditto. The instant I realize its that commercial, I change the channel or turn off the TV altogether. I then pick up my puppy dog & give him numerous kisses & start crying. People who abuse animals (& children) are the scum of the earth; they are lower than pond scum.

@Imaoldhippie I get what you are saying. Staying healthy in a pandemic could be considered part of Wellness. If they'd keep the threads in one spot, it would be easier for OP to skip over them.
