Re: To All Of You In The Deep South

We just got back from an errand that was aborted- even in my H2 we decided to turn around.. traffic is at a stand still and I really, really feel bad for when it's rush hour this evening.. the roads are bad & it's still snowing.. but I got to wear my new snow boots out! Everyone be careful!

Suzie- traffic is at a standstill in front of our house in East Cobb. My boss is stuck at our office in Alpharetta. He went out and couldn't get anywhere, so he turned around and went back in the office. Another friend's husband also turned around and went back to his office and is going to spend the night there.

We now have people walking down our road. No one walks down our road. And the Cobb school buses are delayed and can't get the middle schoolers. A friend who lives near me is walking 1.7 miles to get her son from middle school. She doesn't think she can get there by car.

This is just like it was during Snow Jam '82- 32 years ago.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Gidget, we are almost at Little River Marina- Bells Ferry as far as we could see is at a stand still.. it was announced on tv Cherokee county school busses have stopped running, all the kids are safe at the schools so if the parents can get to them then fine, if not they can stay over.. such a mess huh? We saw people walking too and already cars stranded on the sides of the road. The snow isn't letting up either- I am thinking we're going to get more than an inch...

We have both snow and ice up our way, terrier- I am farther north than Gidget.

We are used to snow here in WNY...but ice is worse! That can bring down your power lines
and makes driving dangerous.

Stay warm!

I'm a bit farther north than Suzie and we are just having snow but the roads are slushy and icy. Treacherous driving today and will be much worse in the morning. Snow is wet and clinging to trees, especially the pines. Have some very low hanging branches already.

I heard that, Marp2.. tomorrow morning with the temps dropping will be like an ice skating rink- so glad we don't have to get out in it.. I mean the snow is still falling.. like a winter wonderland!!

You stay safe and warm too.. can you imagine the road through the Nantahala.. dangerous with all those curves..
