I never say mean things about a child who is acting out.  I'm a licensed clinical social worker and "think" I understand children. This one takes the cake plus it makes me wonder about his parents. This kid might be one who would set their house on fire if he got really mad.

And I don't agree with a previous poster who said to give the parents a break because kids will act up. That's the problem in that there's no (or very lax) supervision of kids nowadays and parents don't take the responsibility of raising them seriously.

Yep, they want 'the villiage' to raise their kids. Sorry , folks, you create them they're not my problem.   I had enough sense to get on the pill, all kinds of birth control out there.  think, before you 'leap'.

WOW, on so many levels!

My first thought, do they have the child's age right? That kid looks huge for a 5 year old!

All else aside, how, physically, could a 5 year old, pull this off? How would they be tall enough, to reach the pedals, see over the steering wheel?

Five year olds, are mastering the art of bike riding, maybe tackling a small scooter.  Even, if they have a good concept, of how you drive a car, I can't picture them, having the fine motor skills, to get an auntomobile, a few feet down the road, never mind, out on a highway!

Five year olds, certainly, can get frustrated, when they don't get what they want.  However, they're still young enough, they're more likely to throw a tantrum, than plan a car theft, and trip to another state, to buy what they want.

I have a niece, who's five. I've spent a good amount of time, with her, and some of her friends. They're all bright, active kids, but, car thievery, WAY beyond their kiddy pay scale, thank goodness!

If this kid  is five, at least in some ways, he has to be a scarily advanced 5 year old!

😂 Once, right after my niece, had turned 4, I asked her how old age was.  She told me 11!

Her favorite cousin, was 11, and I guess she wanted to be the same age. I told her, "you're going to have a hard time, pulling that one off, kiddo!

Hopefully the kid will get past this and go on to become a world famous race car driver. And his parents will have this newspaper article to embarrass him with for years to come. "See? This was when we knew..."

My first reaction was I want to know about the teen sibling who was supposed to be watching the alleged 5 year old.

Turns out the boy will be 6 next month, but he's the size of a 9 year old. It's in his genes.  His teenage sister was supposed to be watching him while the parents were at work.  She took a nap and the kid took the car.  His pass time is watching videos of race cars on you tube.  So yesterday a sympathetic dude who owns a Lambo took the kid for a ride in a real car.  The kid got to live his dream and has something to work forward to.
