Title / Deed Protection Commercial

I've been seeing the commercials for a product to protect from residence title/deed theft.  Does anyone have thiis or can you tell me what you think of this?  I know Lifelock has a product like this too.  I'd like some feedback - thanks!

You don't need anyone to monitor your title/deed ....you can do that yourself online for free...

Haven't seen this commercial.  Don't quite understand.  When we bought property we had a title search done by a reputable firm.  Then bought title insurance.  What else needs to be done????

I could be wrong - but I think with the Title/Deed protection something might be filed with your local courthouse so that someone else can't come in and file a claim that they just sold your house to "xyz", so that you know longer own your house.

We were asked to do it when we bought our home, and it was brand new, never did it , nor would we do it now if we moved. I think it is a bunch of c rap!! But just my 2 cents. I think it is up to the contractor who builds the house to do this when he purchases the land to build on, not the buyers. If I were to buy the land myself , then it would be my responsibility. This ad is shown constantly on FOX News.

When we refinanced our home, I asked the man from the title company about that  since

that commercial made me curious.

He said it could be more of a possibility if your home is paid off. I didn't ask any further.

The Florida Broward County Property Appraiser's office has a free homeowner notification alert system that will alert a property owner (me) if a deed is processed on their home.

I signed up as soon as it was announced.

I never new that this was a thing until I saw a commercial about it this past year.  (shows how naive I can be at times).  This is very scary and one has to be diligent about everything!

As another poster mentioned, you can monitor this yourself.  I just have to learn how to do it.
