Been watching QVC pretty much from their inception. When I wrapped my Christmas presents this year realized not one was from QVC. I did purchase some Christmas decorations from them. Back when they started they and HSN were the only game in town. They really haven't kept up with the perks of electronic retailing. No real sales, seldom free shipping. And now you can add the same old tired merchandise over and over again. Meanwhile I turn on HSN and a clothing sale yesterday, jewelry today. SHOPNBC clothing today. QVC squeezing every last nickel out of their customers with the same old tired merchandise at full price. I honestly don't know how they keep going, maybe habit. People like me who watched so long can't break the habit. I do know I found some tremendous sales on-line this year and then there is Amazon. Items cheaper, free shipping and fast shipping. No more "in the process" waiting for eternity for a refund. It's fast and efficient. I won't say it's a sinking ship as I read here where their financials are good. But they have pretty much sunk in my book.

I usually don't complain about QVC; I watch when I'm interested. But I must say - this holiday season has been pretty bad. I don't like buying electronics, beds, expensive cameras - these are things I would get from a store in case I have to return. I do wish they would have more jewelry on, especially non-Designer sterling silver. I know gold is very high; but sterling shows like Silver Style would be appreciated. We'll see the direction they go in the new year.

IMHO, it is really nothing new. I've complained about the lack of sales for years and years. I haven't watched in several years and ONLY order if I'm looking for an exact item that I'm unable to locate elsewhere (and that's rare).

It seems to get worse and worse every holiday with QVC. Nothing fun, innovative, different... same old callus remover, face cleaner.... flash game.... electronic boredom.... I just do not see how they stay in business.

I have no idea who they think they are targeting with their products. Most of them can be purchased on Amazon with no shipping and handling charges. The clothing I ordered this year ...every package smelled of bug spray so I hesitate to order again. The jewelry is getting flimsy and there were no real bargains I can't get elsewhere for a lot less...
I hope they change but not counting on it. I order less and less and what I do order I rarely want to keep. Gone are the days when QVC really stood for Quality, Value and Convenience.
Thanks for the chance to vent.

The Q makes billions - so why not invest in some good programming with new, innovative, relevant product?

I turned it on twice this morning. Both times they were presenting the TSV, which I'm not interested in at all. Boring programming from them this holiday season. They should be able to do so much better.

But yet they ARE still in business, thriving no doubt.
I think it's us who are jaded and tired of the same old, same old. For every old timer, there are probably several new viewers who are excited about the electronics, callus removers, makeup, and jewelry.
I don't watch anymore unless I'm channel surfing. I used to love watching and buying Joan Rivers jewelry and clothing, but I won't buy anymore because she's not there and I don't feel these items are hers.
I will occasionally buy something I see online, but they're few and far between. I've had to return several items for quality issues, so it's just not worth it to me.
But I imagine QVC will continue to thrive, even if we stop buying.

I honestly don't know where there customer base is coming from. You don't have to be an old timer to realize they are showing the same stuff over and over again. If you watched for a year you'd notice. And they offer no bargains. Many time I think customers are too lazy to look for a better price. Plus I would like to see the percentage of sales that are easy pay items. I tune in occasionally out of habit. Most of the shows with the exception of VPH aren't offered anymore. I have so many beautiful quilts from years ago. Things I honestly couldn't find in retail. There have been many threads on this subject. This morning I was channel surfing and HSN jewelry clearance, ShopNBC clothing clearance and QVC offering the same old full price items. It just struck me.

I believe they are relying on new customers who haven't caught on yet to their boring list of merchandise.
