The choices we make today have far reaching effects. Lord, please guide
me in all of the decisions that I make.
Scripture for the day:
Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves,
you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to
death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? ~Romans 6:16
Meditation for the day:
I can arise from the death of sin and selfishness and put on a new life of
integrity. All the old sins and temptations can be laid in the grave and a
new existence rise from the ashes. Yesterday is gone. As my sins are
forgiven, I can honestly try to do God's will today. Today is here, and the
time of resurrection and renewal approaches. I can start now, today, to
build a new life of complete faith and trust in God and a determination to
do God's will in all things.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may share in making the world a better place to live in. I
pray that I may do what I can to bring goodness a little nearer to the
earth.
Hello my friends! I called Corporate - not too late today but only got the
answering machine. Looks like I'm being avoided. Maybe I should just go
ahead and change my nic there but I don't even know how to get started on
that. Where's the first step? Then would that change my membership number?
My Q credit card number would stay the same? Just lose my posting history?
I just don't know. In the over 5 years at the Q I never had to do this.
Maybe I should try Corporate again in the morning? I left a message at all
the times I got the answering machine but they never called me back. My
blessings today was having Lori over for lunch, and hearing about her
excitement with her new date, Steve. She's real attracted to him, she says.
She's just not ready yet to meet his kids, ages 13 and 15. The girl is 15.
Please would you pray for their relationship that it all goes well - no
broken hearts etc. Lori is 37 and he's 40. Had a nice blessing call from
my best friend, Ann this afternoon! Praying for all your needs, thanks much
for your prayers for us.
Lord, Teach Me The Art Of Patience
By Thomas Fuller
Lord, teach me the art of patience whilst I am well, and give me the use of
it when I am sick. In that day either lighten my burden or strengthen my
back. Make me, who so often in my health have discovered my weakness
presuming on my own strength, to be strong in my sickness when I solely rely
on thy assistance.
WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
Author Unknown
When you thought I wasn't looking, by a Child
A message every parent should read, because your children are watching
and doing as you do, not as you say.
"When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting
on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I
learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for
me and I learned that little things can be the special things in life.
When you though I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew
there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it
to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take
care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and
money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have
something should give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I felt you kiss me good night and I
felt loved and safe.
When you though I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and
everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are
given.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your
responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I
would have to be responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and
I learned that sometimes things hurt, but its all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted
to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons
that I need to know to be good and productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say,
'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'"
Each of us - parent, grandparent or friend - influence the life of a
child.
Let Go Of Anger
Anger: It can be defined as the noise of the soul. Anger: It is the unseen
irritant of the heart. Anger: The relentless invader of our peace.... The
louder it gets the more desperate we become.....
The normal response to a plea to calm down is; "You don't know how hard
my life has been." And you are right. I don't. But I have a very clear idea
how miserable your future will be unless you deal with your anger. For in
the words of our day; "I've been there, done that." And I speak from
experience, anger only breeds bitterness, depression and defeat.
If you could x-ray the soul of the vengeful and angry person you would
behold the tumor of bitterness, black, menacing, malignant. Anger is
carcinoma of the spirit. It's fatal fibers creep around the edge of the
heart and ravage it, driving a wedge between us and happiness. Yesterday you
can not alter, but your reaction to yesterday you can. The past you can not
change, but your response to your past you can.
God will take your anger, you have only to ask, and then be willing to
give it away. Don't fall for the world's trap, voiced in that old saying;
"People can bury the hatchet; but they never forget where they buried it."
God brings the peace that passes all understanding and can restore silence,
tranquility and love in our lives.

Tomorrow is the Feast of All Saints:
All Saints Day
Dear Father, You have given the saints in Heaven eternal happiness and they
now live in the fullness of Your glory. Because of their holy love for You,
they also care about me and my family, my friends, my church, and my
neighbors. Thank You for the gift of their friendship and the witness of
their holy lives. I ask our patron saints and every saint who has become
especially dear to me to intercede for us. I ask them to help us journey
safely on the narrow path that leads to Heaven. O Lord, give us their
protection. Grant us their assistance in overcoming temptation and gaining
the fullness of life with You. Amen.
Guardian Angel Prayer For Friends
Guardian Angel,
watch over those whose names you can read in my heart.
Guard over them with every care
and make their way easy and their labors fruitful.
Dry their tears if they weep;
sanctify their joys;
raise their courage if they weaken;
restore their hope if they lose heart,
their health if they be ill,
truth if they err,
repentance if they fail...
Amen.
