I had a 5-speed version, @Alsace Gal, but would have been fine with a 3-speed. I was riding on mostly flat terrain. I usually rode in the early morning or evening hours when it was cool and not much traffic. I would get off to get it up the driveway and into the garage.
I think mine was a Miami Sun.
ETA: Although my havanese loves being with me, he wasn't happy in the basket. 😏 He waited anxiously for me to appear safe in the driveway 😊

I would give it a try. You have nothing to loose and will see many benefits being active. Life is too short.

My knees aren't too bad except for the occassional hiccup.
I need to start a bit slow. My last exray didn't show anythinh abnormal. I was told to more excersize.

One thing to consider is that they take up a lot of room.
Also, think about whether or not you would feel safe riding it on the streets where you live.

I saw that Wallmart has them and so does my local bike shop, they fitted me to my last bicycle 15 years ago. I think I'll go there tomorrow.
I'll see if they csn fit a basket on it so that my Reilley can ride with me.
That sounds like a good plan.😃
Since your bike shop helped you with your last purchase, I'd probably go there first just to ask a lot of questions about it. They'd probably know a whole lot more than anybody at Walmart. But, Walmart probably would have a better price. That's why I said go to the bike shop first. This way you can benefit from their expertise. Then, compare prices.
When I start gardening each year, it about kills me. But, I realize that's not the same kind of exercise. It's just back breaking. I need real, cardio exercise.
Walking up and down hills in the woods hunting for those mushrooms has shown me how much I need to work my muscles. Whew! 😥
Please let me know if you decided to try it. Even if the bike doesn't work out, you might find something else you'd like to do. Good luck.😊💝🌸

Yes all good considerations. I have a double garage with one car, it should fit in there.
The streets in my neighborhood are not too busy.
I have the route chosen.
I won't leave my neighborhood.

Any chance you have access to a stationary bike, hopefully a recumbent, to see how your knees do?

No, I sold both mine and sister's bikes a few years ago.
The bike shop in my area may allow me to ride one in their lot. They might have a used one.

Yes, once I had a bit of practice. I was able to test ride the trike behind the bike store. The store delivered it to the house for me. I was able to sell it quickly when we sold the AZ house.
