I'm in my early 70's and used to bike a lot. I stopped about 10 years ago and can really see the negative difference.
I've never been thin-always heavy.
I'm thinking about purchasing an adult three wheel bicycle. I think it would help tremendously. I use to love using my bike in the early morning, no matter what the weather was.
Anyone else use one?
Thoughts, pro or con, please/

I owned a trike when I spent the winter months in Arizona. Go for it!

I think that sounds like a terrific idea!😃
I am on the thinner side, but I can tell a big difference in my muscle tone since I've not been active for awhile. Whether thin or heavy, inactivity sure can take a toll.
I'd sure get one if I had somewhere I could ride it! 💝🌸
Sounds FUN too!😃

Was it heavy to use? I have a short steep driveway and will need to push it up.
I remember my thighs were very heavy when I first began and after three months I was able to wear knee lenght skirts and knee lengths shorts. I could even wear leggings. When I say I was heavey, I lost 95 pounds riding my bike, it was a Trek, 3 speed.
I had so much energy. the first two weeks I couldn't ride around the block which was a short one.
My dear sister was so very proud of me.

I rode around my neighborhood, I was very embarrased for anyone to see me.
My breathing has changed since me dear sister has passed, I stopped almost all activity.

That's a wonderful accomplishment! Sounds to me like you were in pretty good shape.😃. I've been inactive so long, I know I'd have to start ANY activity slow. I hope it's not too heavy and difficult to use.🌸

I'm so very sorry to hear about your sister passing.❤️
That's one of the hardest losses to experience.
I know exactly what you mean about being embarrassed. I'd feel that way going to the gym right now because I wouldn't be able to keep up with anybody. I honestly doubt I could walk the treadmill for any length of time.
But, we both shouldn't feel that way. I'm always self conscious in any situation. It stinks to live like that too. Everyone has to start somewhere and the important thing is to start. Anyone looking to make fun of either of us aren't worth the energy to even give a thought to. 💝🌸

It's true, it affects your whole life.
I saw that Wallmart has them and so does my local bike shop, they fitted me to my last bicycle 15 years ago. I think I'll go there tomorrow.
I'll see if they csn fit a basket on it so that my Reilley can ride with me.

Are your knees in good shape? If you haven't done any kind of cycling in a very long time, I would definitely try to do some before committing to any kind of purchase...just to make sure your knees will still cooperate. LOL! I had arthroscopic surgery for a torn meniscus in 2016 and my left knee will just not do the cycling motion anymore.
