I never even noticed it.  But maybe it shows up more on what settings you are using on your device.

I must be super rude then.  My screen name is in all caps.  It didn't start out that way.  Twice when QVC changed the boards, I couldn't sign in.  I had to use a new screen name.

The first time I put a number after my name and the second time, I used all caps.  I didn't want to use a screen name that was unfamiliar to everyone.  I am not saying, " Look at me, look at me."

When I was in school and did reports, it was required that the title be in all caps. Also, when we referenced a book title, it had to be in all caps.  Newspaper headlines are often in all caps.

I don't think typing in all caps on a headline on a forum is yelling or saying anything. Some people were just taught to type titles in all caps when they were in school and carried it over to the forums.

I would not type the body of anything in all caps, because it is not a correct way to write, but I know that people that have trouble seeing sometimes do and they also prefer to read when everything is in full caps.  I take no offense when someone uses all caps.

I have seen people on here get lambasted for using all caps, when they had no idea it is now considered to be yelling for social media.  IMO, that was rude.  Nothing like chasing people away when they try their hand on social media for the first time.

I used to bold my posts because it seemed to be better visually. I was of course lectured about it being rude by another poster.

I think it's just some people's excitement about the thread.  I really don't think anything of it.

If I am posting a new thread i like to sometimes use caps, to draw attention if it is something like a savings being offered for the Q or HSN. I would not do it if it was a TV thread. But if there is a one day only huge discount from one of the shopping channels, I think it does deserve special attention.

If a poster who used CAPS for thread titles went on to post everything in caps, then it would make sense to me that it might be a vision issue.  But not if only the title is in caps.

But carry on with your caps if you like.  I was just curious!

Too bad its come to this. Social media grants people the opportunity to hide behind their computer screens to say things they'd never say to someone in person. Sad.

@ID2

I would ask someone in person why they were yelling.

Nobody has mentioned this, but I decided to be proactive.  I try to always use #3 front in bold to make reading easier.  I guess knowing a few people with vision issues has prompted me to do this.  It really makes messages much easier to read.

For my old eyes, reading your posts in bold does make them easier for me to read. CAPS?  I prefer your bolding. Just sayin !!

I do not think it is important enough to start a thread about it.

Ah, yes, I have noticed that most topics on these boards are very important.
