Re: Thoughts on upgrading your wedding rings?

I second Pearley's idea. You could put your set on a pendant. It would be sweet to wear the rings close to your heart. I think I'll look into doing that with my first wedding set.

Looks like there are two very distinctive camps.  There's the sentimental camp, and the "they're just rings" camp.  I belong to the latter.

I don't think those of us in the sentimental camp think wearing our rings makes our marriage - we just remember the feelings that came with receiving those rings. My rings mean much much more to me than just jewelry.

I have only been able to wear my wedding rings a handful of times in about a year now, due to arthritis.  I have always had large knuckles, but now they are bigger, and I can't wear a lot of the rings I love so much.

Anyhow, I was checking into getting my wedding rings resized, and it is very expensive.  Just for the heck of it, I decided to look at new bridal sets.  My husband also went with me recently.  We found a great deal at a Kay Jeweler outlet, but I just couldn't bring myself to trade in my rings.  I am too darn sentimental.

I'm still considering trading in, as my husband is perfectly fine with it, and has even tried to talk me into doing so.

I'm just curious what your thoughts are on upgrading your wedding rings.  Have you done so or would you?  Or are you too sentimental.

Op this is a common problem with women.   You should look into a expandable shank for your existing rings.

Re: Thoughts on upgrading your wedding rings?

The idea that the first ring is not so sentimental to me at all.  I'm not really sentimental about things any more, having had to get of three estates of relatives, but also I just see "upgrading" as a symbol of our success and growth of love and life's experiences.
