Re: Those Hand dryers in Restrooms - best not to use them.

The worst about public restrooms is the auto sensor commodes. They say your bathroom toilet will spray droplets 12+ feet. Imagine how far public toilets spray? Gah! If I can I’ll cover the sensor with tissue paper or pull a seat cover down over the *eye*. And try to get the heck out of the stall before it flushes. The centrifugal force if those things will re-style your hair!

Update:   I thought it would be obvious but I'm talking about healthy people here not anyone who is ill.   My apologies for upsetting anyone who didn't understand that.

I don't know how many times it has to be said but this germaphobia may kill you.   Exposure to germs trains your immune system and causes it to build defenses in response to that exposure.  We've been told that for ages and yet the dangerous fear of a germ still abounds.

You have got to keep your immune system strong.    And you do that by exposure.   This hand sanitizing, glove wearing, washing and scrubbing, using towels to open doors etc is going to kill you.

This is especially true for kids from birth to elementary school ages.   That's a critical time for training their immune system and yet parents live in a germ paranoia world and impart that on their kids.   No wonder there are so many kids with allergies and 'syndromes' etc.   I knew one kid in my elementary school with an allergy in the 1950's.

I don't know what it will take to get this through to people.  Lighten up and live longer and healthier.

Made several corrections.

I remember dr oz had a *patient* on his show who was a public toilet germaphobe. He *cured* this person and actually had them LICKING a public toilet seat. <thud>. How there’s any benefit to doing that was beyond me. If I can avoid others’ bodily fluids~I will. (Call me a freak.  Don't care.)  It’s NOT going to kill me to stay away from other's urine and feces and etc. and for that I am SURE.

@Bridgegal.......  Don't know how much you know about cancer patients that are or have been under going treatment.  But, we are more likely to pick up viruses much easier than a lot of normally healthy people are.  Our bodies are fighting the treatments and therefore we have to be very careful.  Like not being around any one that has a cold, running a temp, the flu, etc.  Anyone that comes to see me has to be free of those things.  They all know it.

Edited to say this.  To tell us to lighten up.....no way.....  I will do anything that helps me stay healthy and to live longer.....  I'm not ready to go see my maker yet...

Maybe you might want to read up on this.....then you may understand what we go through.  Believe me, it's no picnic.

I read about this several months ago and was glad I did. I haven't used one since. I try to avoid public restrooms but it's not always possible.

@ShowMe

Of course I know that there are people who have to be extra careful.  I'm talking about healthy people who freak out at the thought of coming in contact with a germ.  I thought that went without saying.   Sorry if I upset you.

@Bridgegal......of course you upset me.  Maybe it would have been better if you would have said that in your post.  I'll say no more on this to you.

"I've never liked them just because they don't work well." @suzyQ3

It sounds like you're talking about the old-fashioned dryers that take forever to dry. The high speed dryers are super fast. My only hope when using them is that my skin goes back to its original position when I'm finished, lol!

I love them...use them all the time.
