@Enufstuff wrote:@Kalli In eastern Massachusetts it has been an extremely hot and humid summer, also. The lack of rain and nearby forest fires have made it all worse.
In the hot humid weather, I don't drink hot coffee. I make my mug of coffee and add sugar. Then I pour it into a little stainless steel saucepan and put that in the freezer for about ten
minutes. Then I put it into a glass, add cream and ice. I now like making my own iced coffee rather than drive to Dunkin Donuts
to get one. I don't even want to leave the house in this weather.
@Enufstuff , That sounds delicious! And it sounds easy enough that even I could do it!
I'm going to try it tomorrow.
I'm no longer a fan of DD. Too expensive and the line at the drive-thru is untenable. However, my friend who also grooms my dogs, loves Cold Brew. Everytime I take my dogs to her I stop and pick up a Large Black Cold Brew (no ice) for her. She's found that if DD puts the ice in, it takes up so much space there's very little Cold Brew left to drink!

@Kalli It's not like I went to Dunkin Donuts often, maybe only a couple of times over the summer. I don't even drink coffee every day. I only have coffee when I have something good to go with it,
like the blueberry muffins that I made this week, or a homemade banana bread, etc.
On the days, I eat granola for breakfast, I don't have coffee. One very hot and humid morning recently, I felt like having iced coffee rather than hot coffee to go with something.
I didn't feel like getting dressed and waiting for the car to cool, to go to Dunkin Donuts. So, I thought that I would try to make it myself. My son suggested that it would cool quicker in a metal pan, when I put it in the freezer. It worked, and I have done it several times.
Finally this morning, it was 73 three degrees with no humidity, so I had hot coffee with my muffins.
If you bake, you may like the blueberry muffin recipe.

@Enufstuff I used to go to DD often when I worked. It was a treat that made the day go faster. 😁 But I don’t go now unless I’m bringing cold brew to my friend. Honestly, I like McD coffee better than Dunkin now but I only get that if I’m already out running errands. Most days, like you, I make my own coffee at home. Sometimes if I’m really ambitious I’ll grind my own beans and make it fresh. Haven’t done that recently tho.
I’m a coffee addict! Have to have coffee in the morning or I’m grumpy. My friend and I went to the shore in July and we were talking about going to the beach early one day but we had to find a place that sold coffee on the way. She said if we couldn’t find a place that sold coffee on our way to the beach we’d have to beat some people up! I laughed so hard at her for that. Haha!
I’m going to check out that recipe you mentioned. I’d love to have blueberry muffins with my coffee!
