Third child baby shower?

Am I being sour grapes? I have never heard of this. I am on baby 3 and wouldn't dream of registering for gifts or expecting anyone to host a shower for me. Even though this baby is a boy and my first 2 were girls. However I know of others in my same boat, and they seem to think it's normal. I just got an invite to one. I think it's kind of odd. Anyone?
