My great uncle kept some ponies and horses on the farm in east Texas for us city kids to enjoy when we came to the country.  Those were some of the good old days.

Wow that is incredible, I didn't even realize there were still wild horses in the United States.  Do you mind saying what state this is in?

I think there are still some wild mustangs roaming the southwest; I wonder if these could be part of that herd?

I am in Southern New Mexico in the Lincoln National Forest. It is high altitude with the tallest peak at 12,000 ft. This photo is about 7500 ft. The stream the horses are using is from the melting snow.
