Re: They Know I'm Old When I Say My Name

My first name is one of the common ones already mentioned. But my middle name was my mom's first name and it's interesting that I've been hearing it used now.

Mom's name was Clare. She was named for a county in Ireland. She used to get upset when people mistakenly spelled it as "Claire." 😉

I'm 3/4 Irish. The other fourth is Ashkenazi. Quite the combo, I guess!

Re: They Know I'm Old When I Say My Name

My name BONNIE.  And it means beautiful.  My mother was enamored with Gone With the Wind. The daugher was named Bonnie Blue.  I am Bonnie Lou.  No that is not totally the story since I was named for my  Grandfather Bernard and My mother's brother Louis.

It is not really a common name then or now.

How common is the name Bonnie for a baby born in 2021?
  • Bonnie was the 513th most popular girls name.
  • In 2021 there were 598 baby girls named Bonnie.
  • 1 out of every 2,976 baby girls born in 2021 are named Bonnie.
How likely is an individual named Bonnie to meet another Bonnie?
  • Assuming the same birth rate and naming preferences as those in 2021, in a group of 10,000 individuals we would expect 2 girls named Bonnie.
  • In other words, if an individual with the name Bonnie meet 10,000 individuals over the course of his or her lifetime, he or she would have a 80.658% probability of meeting at least one girl with the same given name.
  • With an average elementary class size of 482 in the US, an individual with the name Bonnie would have a a 7.595% probability of going to school with a girl named Bonnie.

@bonnielu  I like your name Bonnie Lou. I grew up with two Bonnies, but their real name was Bonita. My town was heavily Italian.

Re: They Know I'm Old When I Say My Name

seems like in the 60's there were common names such as Debbie, Patty, Mary, Donna , and Sue etc. , in fact I have and had cousins , and aunts with those names
