Near my home is a large intersection with one gas station across the street from the other. One of them is a BP and the other a Shell. They both get a lot of business.
I have no
ticed that they always seem to have the same price for gas. My education is in nursing, not finance or business, but I have wondered........Why doesn't one of them lower their price by one or two cents????
The way people feel now (and I'm one of them!), I think the one with the lower price, even if by one cent, would get WAY more business!! They would easily offset their lower price by more volume, and build good will among customers.
I have heard the company sets the price, but can't the station owner TALK to the company with this brilliant idea???
