I'm still wearing the watch my DS bought for my birthday 20 years ago. It's not one of the mega ones but I do like them; just don't want to wear any other watch right now.

It's nice to have a favorite or a standby. I have a lot of watches, getting a new Judith Ripka for Christmas this year, but my go-to watch is a QVC Gossip watch bought years ago. There were 5 watches for something like $25, different colors including black, red and purple. I grab the black all the time for things like running outside quickly and every time I go to have my hair done. If it gets spattered with hair color, it's no big loss.

Hi Noel: I do have 3 different color bands for my watch. I thought of you the other day - my market had the San Francisco line of OPI nail polish. lol And a $5 off coupon for all colors.

The younger people I know don't wear watches or have alarm clocks--they use their cell phones.

To me, it is easier (at a meeting, say) to tactfully look down at one's wrist than it is to disguise a time-check using a cell phone. Really large watches don't look good on me, but tiny ones make it hard to see without being obvious, as with a cell phone.

I have half a dozen watches I wear a lot, and my favorite is my Eric Grosbardt watch from about 10 years ago. It's a small-scaled "bubble" watch and is really beautiful and also reliable and easy to see. My second favorite is a silver Arte d'Argento, probably older than the Grosbardt. My gold watches are all a little small for quick time-checks, so I love them but don't wear them quite as often.

I don't think the large watches are in danger of becoming extinct any time soon. For some people a watch is pure function, for others it is for fashion, and for some it's both. I prefer the oversize "boyfriend" watches even though I have very small wrists. I just like wearing them a little loose like a bangle and the dainty, small-faced watches never appealed to me. I wear a watch every day and use it to tell time, much easier for me than always pulling the phone out of my purse or when I don't have it with me. I don't feel completely dressed if I don't have a watch on. I've always enjoyed collecting watches and the different styles, to me they are like jewelry or little pieces of artwork. Even though I have a variety, I tend to mostly wear only a couple that are my favorites. The only time I don't wear a large watch is when I am in formal dress, but that doesn't happen often anymore.

Big watched have been around for about 20 years, they aren't a trend and they aren't going away because, women like them.

I am very small and the big faces look silly on me..I like the small, oval faces my mom used to wear. I see more of them, so hopefully they're coming back~

Hi Cakers Smile

I like that OPI line! I've been itching to go to Ulta to see all their holiday specials, but it's been heavy rain almost every day... then we had to have the guy come out to fix the WiFi, which turned into a big job of moving furniture, etc.

Today is nice, but I didn't want to brave the weekend crowds.
