I have a feeling the people who are apologizing, hope this will put an end to it, and they will get to go on with their lives, because they said sorry
They are counting on the forgiveness of the public, because they still think they are special ,and the public just really loves them so much
A kick into touch ,is what is needed in many arenas in our country. So many of these people, just on camera ,scatter a few crumbs of charity, making sure they are being on the front page for doing it, and then behind the scenes ,they live like the true people they really are
They denounce others, very loudly, and publicly ,while doing the same thing ,or worse behind closed doors
I sincerely hope, the genie, well and truly, has escaped from the bottle, and will never be able to have a secret life of crime again

She lost consciousness and needed medical help, so he had an assistant take her to see the nurse.
Usually the courts don’t find an apology is enough in an attack like that.
I read about this too. My first thought was -- "And the nurse chose to say nothing????!!!!!"

Not just the nurse, what about his assistant that probably witnessed nonsense going on over and over again for years! It's driving me crazy that these women chose to never report this abuse at the time!! I just have a big problem of the credibility of these women that all of a sudden decide to complain years and years later. Kind-of sets womanhood back into the caveman days.

What was in the pot at NBC had been bubbling for a very long time. NBC executives kept a lid on it but because they knew lurid stories were about to break, they made the termination decision. Belatedly, of course.

@chrystaltree wrote:The only thing they are sorry for is that they got caught. Those "heartfelt" apologies and the blah blah blah are written by their publicists and lawyers they hire to staunch the bleeding. They have to say something, so put a press release out with the usual bull ******. I expect Lauer to announce that he's going somewhere for "treatment" since his actions are 100 times worse that the earlier ones.
Exactly @chrystaltree and if they weren't guilty they wouldn't be apologizing, they would be saying they were filing suit for defamation of character or slander.

I wondered most about the assistant, he or she would be culpable to some extent, I would think.
Women don't tell, probably most of the time, that's a given. They are too ashamed or afraid, they worry they will lose their job, they worry about retaliation, they know other women won't believe them, which we see here all the time. It's self protection to keep their mouth shut.
In days gone by, families would advise them not to tell, for one reason, because no man would want a sullied woman as a wife. Not to tell because it would shame the family. This goes back a long time and it's still happening.

My previous boss told me that once men get all the success and money that they want, they look for other "thrills." I think that may be the case for Matt Lauer. No excuse though.

@Jasmine19, but why bother if you think you can get by with stonewalling?
