So over the years I've had cats (many, many cats) who've had various tastes.
My cat (Jack) loved Italian food! I never gave it to him but if I put it down (empty plate), he'd be over there licking the tomato sauce from the plate.
One cat (Fabio) my late husband's cat would eat any human food.
For Bill I even order (from Chewy) specific prescription cat food. I'm very careful not to give him over the counter bought cat food. Katie the cat can eat any kind of over the counter cat food so I I stand and watch her eat and then remove whatever she leaves because Bill can't eat it.
Hang on....I'm getting to the point...So I just made myself Panera Chicken noodle soup, Panera salad, chips...Yum! I went into the kitchen to get something, came out and (you guessed it)...Bill was licking my soup! It won't hurt him but he's NEVER eaten human food, never showed any interest. I've left things and he's never touched it.
Now Panera soup is amazing (huge chunks of white chicken) so I understand it 'calling' him. But it was funny to see him just licking like crazy.
Out went the soup...(as I was saying good-bye down the sink) and I started all over again.
I know dogs will eat just about everything, but usually cats are more, much more picky.
What are some of the crazy things your cat will eat (either sneaky, or you give them a taste)?

I only have a stray cat and he eats his cat food with gusto.Once when I hadn’t seen him in awhile I thought he was gone so I took dog treats for my dog buds and no cat food...darned if the cat wasn’t there and howling for something.I had steak chunks only so I fed him those.I think the cat loved it but I worried about upsetting her stomach.

A few of my cats love spicy chips and crackers. If I'm not careful, the bag of Doritos will get swiped.

Sorry this is not a cat story - we are a family of 3 all highly allergic to cats.
BUT we were longterm babystitting my brother's collie. It was very well trained. My brother would only feed his dog the best dog food and definitely NO PEOPLE FOOD. So we followed my brothers wishes. In fact the dog never showed interest in people food. When we ate, he would be sitting in his bed. Even preparing food, he never ventured into the kitchen.
One morning before work, I was preparing my lunch. I was making a pastrami sandwich, with cole slaw and thousand island dressing. I needed more dressing, so I went to the garage where we keep an extra pantry. When I returned I could not find my sandwich. I thought, did I move it? I could not figure out where it could have gone. And it dawned on me the dog in no time flat ate every morsel - rye bread, cole slaw and all. There was not so much as a crumb. How could I be mad? I was the one that left it on the kitchen table and he figured out how to get it.
I keep saying someday I will learn - I am still waiting for that day.

I had a black cat that I got from the shelter that was newborn. I had to use a baby formula for her until she was able to start on kitten then cat food.(the shelter had no facilities to care for the new born kitten) when she then got to the terrible twos in kitten years , she developed a like for pizza and especially pepperoni. If I brought a pizza in the house she was the first one to claim her "piece ". She continued to love it up to her death (age 23)

Poody (see avatar) would eat any human food I gave him, but really loves any kind of mashed legume, especially baked beans with lots of sauce. But his all time favorite treat is asparagus, especially the tender tips.
Fortunately, he's also survived eating the handles on plastic shopping bags. Naughty boy!!
Swee' Pea had a congenital dental disorder, is missing half her teeth, can't bite or chew anything. She's swallowed food whole all her life.
She eats like a gekko, sticking her tongue onto her dry food, and reeling what sticks back into her mouth.
Sometimes she'll show an interest in my food, but can't manage to eat it.

BBQ pork skin out of the bag; had to be cruncy. Had a cat that would sit up and beg like a dog for them. Cute as can be until an hour later when the gas attacks began......

I used to read my daughter a book titled Pizza Cat when she was young.
Your story reminded me of this book.
Cute story.
I love pizza too!
