The smell of almond milk

[ Edited ]

If you drink almond milk, including vanilla almond, sweetened or unsweetened, can you smell it?

I've been using unsweetened vanilla almond milk and I made two large drinks with it. One drink was put in the Vitamix with sweet red bell pepper and the other drink was put in the Vitamix with mini carrots.

I know this seems odd, but I can smell the almond milk, not the vanilla or the veggies, under my arms when I wake up. Does anyone else notice the smell of the almond milk sticking around?

I love almond milk, particularly the unsweetened vanilla. I smell the almonds when I drink it, but it is very slight. I purchase the organic unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

Re: The smell of almond milk

I love almond milk, sometimes just drinking a glass of it.  I never noticed any odor and very little, if any, almond taste.  I like it much better than I ever liked dairy.  I do not use it for cooking, however, having had some bad results.  I keep small cans of evaporated and some shelf stable whole milk for the times I need milk for cooking.

@World Traveler @I'm trying to figure out if I smell the almonds. I smell the stuff when I drink it and now I'm smelling it on me. Strange.

Re: The smell of almond milk

I can not imagine drinking almond milk or any other milk with peppers or carrots,  I have used almond milk for years but was never crazy about the taste.  I have switched to oat milk.  It is realy delicious with cereal...... Don't know about the issue of feeling like you smell of almond milk.  Never noticed anything like that.

 How much of it are you drinking if you can smell it coming out of your pores?

@Mindy D are you sensitive to the scent of almonds in general? On a court TV trial about a poisoning, they repeatedly mentioned that some people are able to easily smell the bitter scent of almonds from a cyanide poisoning, but many can't. Maybe you have a supersmeller abiity.

@Mindy D

No.  No weird smell for me.

re: smelling it under your arms.  Do you mean from sweat glands in your arm pits?

@Mindy D  When you make these drinks, are you 'drinking' them or bathing with them?
