I don't know why your point of view is condemned. Most people who are older than 10 years old would like a clean bed to sleep in and be able to breathe at night. My cats have plush, soft beds and in more than one place in the house. One can love animals and not want to cuddle with them while sleeping as if they were human.
ILikeShade, I don't think it is so much her point of view that is condemned, as I think there are many who have sleep arrangements with their animals in their bed that understand there are others who wouldn't consider it. It is her haughty attitude, and superior tone that comes across in every post, and over time, many get tired of her attitude of superiority.

We had a 105 pound boxer that use to do that. I would be woken up in the middle of the night because he would put his head right across my neck. Even his head was massive! LOL

OOPs. I didn't mean to post such a big picture. That is my dearly departed Sophie. I lost her in September, and I miss her so much. I truly believe that her spirit led me to my Leonard and Sheldon.

Oh, no! I love Boxers, but that must've been painful!

Sophie is so beautiful, Rain City Girl. You must miss her so. I still miss every cat I have lost. But every one of them is different.
Claire is an exotic short hair, I guess, part Persian and part flame point Siamese, but she is underweight and has some challenges. Probably rescued from an unethical backyard breeder.
I was warned that five people had adopted and returned Claire, beautiful as she is. So I had to drive over to Naples to be "interviewed" by her. As I now know, she likes people, or she will have nothing whatever to do with them. I was nonetheless told by the foster mom for the rescue just to "be myself."
So I went into the rescue room with the cat mom. I was wearing a big shirt (early 2000s, probably from the Q) with a shell. I sat on the floor. Claire, who was on a cat tree tryng to look tall, saw me, ran over to me at about 60 mph, climbed under the big shirt AND under the shell, and scrooched up to nestle on my upper chest. I got the job!
She is nervous, but like most older people I have a fairly quiet household. And there are still people she likes or doesn't like. She likes my yard guy, even if he is working the leaf blower. Sits there gazing fondly at him and blinking. And in his roar of a voice, he bellows, HELLO CLAIRE!! She blinks some more.
Most people? She turns into Susan Storm, the Invisible Girl.

Your photo brought tears to my eyes. Sophie looks so much like my boy Cow. He was only three, and was hit in the road almost two years ago. I had never lost a pet that way, and am still devastated to this day. He was a stray that we took in with his mother and sister, and he always wanted to go outside and roam during the day. He was intimidated by nothing, and unfortunately it led to his demise.
Sophie was so beautiful, and perhaps she and Cow have met at the Bridge and noticed their similarities.

I like to think that all my departed kitties have met on the other side, and I hope they have found my dad. Each one was so different, such an individual personality, that made each unforgettable. As a kid I lost a cat and a dog to being hit by cars which was very traumatic for the whole family. My own kitties have had non fatal accidents, but mostly died due to diseases of old age. They all lived to be 14 to 17 l/2. I feel, though, that Sophie and I were cheated because I didn't get her until she was 6 and only had her 8 years before she succumbed to colon cancer. She was the most mellow, friendly, non territorial, loving cat I have every had. She greeted my guests at the door and made them feel welcome. She didn't even care if the neighbor cat wanted to share the patio furniture. Every once in a while, Sheldon now suddenly stares intently at something invisible, holding his gaze for quite a while as if he has seen or heard something I am not seeing. I am really wondering if it's Sophie that he sees, silently floating around my house to check on us. I have her ashes and the ashes of three of my other babies with me in my home office. I want them buried with me.

This guy looks like my neighbor's cat who uses my patio furniture to snooze on in the sun. He's just about as fat too. My first kitty as a kid was a tabby just like this one.

What a beautiful girl! She looks almost exactly like my little girl, Baby Cat, except Baby Cat has the little black triangle on the tip of her nose. I know you miss her terribly. Some posters are familiar with my story - Baby Cat has had kidney disease for three years and has been doing very well until the last few weeks. It has escalated and, along with some other problems, I know that our time together is very limited now - maybe only days. I've adored all my animals, but somehow there is that very special one. It seems all I do now is spend time taking care of her and just being with her, and trying not to cry. I hold her and dance around the kitchen, with her face close to mine and try to burn the image into my mind.
Sorry to bring sadness to this great thread, but sometimes it just spills over.
For anyone who has not followed catlover's thread "Pictures of Just Cats" on VP, it's my goto thread every day for a smile or a laugh -- check it out if you haven't already.
