Because that is what this thread became long ago.
She did not say ""beat"" in fact it's rather impossible to ""beat"" a person with a switch.

Your son who refuses to speak to you says you are a fabulous mother?
He said I was a fabulous mother but bad parent. I don't understand that.

You're so wrong. Several of us here saw the photo of wounds from a switch, including open cuts. It's a child abuse offence. To strike a person "repeatedly and violently so as to hurt or injure them"

Really, you are getting up set because in the late 70's and early 80's I would use a switch on my brothers legs to get them to mind........but it was not all the time and they never had scars......it just stings a little and they are find young men now. They spank their children........sorry if you think spanking your child gentle is child abuse........I disagree..............this is out of control............so I guess you ladies are perfect and never got a spanking growing up. No wonder there are so many brats here that post.

I'm sorry your brother-in-law passed. I think it was good that you went to the memorial. It is getting late so I won't say much but will get back to you tomorrow. Take care RRR you know I think about you a lot and wish the best for you.

Inflicting pain on another human being is abuse. I was spanked frequently and it was painful and frightening. Just because I believe physical assault is wrong doesn't make me a "brat".
