Chico's have "branded" themselves to appeal to Baby Boomers. I recently went into their store and had no idea what their sizes were. I found it ridiculous and kind of an insult to my intelligence to tell me I am a size 00. Everything was cut ridiculously big and reminded me of QVC's vanity sizing.

This Baby Boomer will be passing on their clothing.{#emotions_dlg.blink}

I went to one of their stores once and hated their sizing thing, too.

And much of it struck me as "And then there's Maude".

OwieSmiley Happy I think the sizing is nutty but I do have a number of their tops -- none are long and flowing.

As with any store, you have to pick and choose. Yes they carry a lot that I'd never wear but they also carry a lot that appeals to me. I have a few pieces in my wardrobe that I've had for years and years. The quality is there and the items are still very much in style.

I have a dress that I bought from Chico's probably 5 years ago at least. The original price was $188.00 and I got it for $19.99. I cannot tell you how often I have worn that dress. It washes and wears beautifully.

Carolyn Gracie had a gorgeous quilted leather jacket on when she hosted the Train show. It was from Chicos.

I don't know of any woman who thinks they are a size 2 IRL because that is the Chico's sizing number they correspond to.

My sister is tiny and she can wear Chico's clothing. Their 000 is a size 0.

I think she looks different than from the beginning of her career. Perhaps, it is because she looks like she had "work" done and I associate that with an older woman.

I don't know what she looked like younger, so I can't comment on that part. She has very refined features, and her style is sophisticated. That's what makes her look "older" to me. :-)

I agree with you about vanity sizing being out of control. It's very frustrating trying to shop online these days because you never know how things will fit. When someone says an item fits "true to size" I don't even know what the means any more.

Not sure if Chicos still does this but they put the mirror outside the fitting cubicle so you have to come out and look, then the SA are all over you bringing more outfits and sizes.

They do have super cute jewelry though! I think their clothes are perfect to wear to Vegas or Mohegan Sun, cruisewear, etc.

The model looks great and she has tons of personality and energy, plus she looks a bit more mature.

Re: The gorgeous Chico's model

chico's has gotten away from all of those "Maude" type tops - they still carry some of them, but also have great jeans, sweaters, etc.

They are owned by the same company that owns White House Black Market and Soma.

I don't shop there a lot, but if you sign up with them, you have access to GREAT sales on-line and additional discounts!!!!

Well then, I might have to look at some of their things again!

I buy a lot of clothing from Chico's. No one has ever said I dress like Maude.

I have to agree about thinking this model was older than 40.

She's beautiful, she's been at the center of their ads for a while now but she looks older than 40. She's the "Chico woman", smart enough to figure out their sizing system...it doesn't take a rocket scientist....lol

Nobody stated it takes a rocket scientist to figure out their sizing but your assumption of what was posted.

I just don't like someone pandering to my ego when it comes to sizing.

I just think their sizing is stupid.

i have a stand alone chicos about one mile away from my home......i rarely go in because of the no mirrors in the dressing rooms. i prefer to order online, use the coupon codes that i can find, and then return to the store or exchange in the store as needed.

i have been shopping at chicos for years.....their sizing is really no different than the xxs, xs, s, m, l, xl that some of the other retailers use, including qvc. i do find that their clothing runs standard. if you are a 2, for example, you can always buy a 2. at least that has been my experience.

I thought they had a different system for sizing, not the standard 2,4,6 etc.
