Re: The gorgeous Chico's model

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me she is a bit too skinny.

Me too. I thought she was 50-ish.

Why do you think she looks 50? I thought the same but couldn't quite pinpoint why???

Perhaps because she has a sophisticated kind of beauty?

I think she looks different than from the beginning of her career. Perhaps, it is because she looks like she had "work" done and I associate that with an older woman.

Re: The gorgeous Chico's model

I have a good friend who is 60 and looks very much like that model. Hairstyle, figure, etc. The model looks waaaay older than 40, IMHO, I thought she was in her mid-50's.

She's attractive but I wouldn't call her gorgeous.

My late mother-in-law was in her 80's and was a big fan of Chico's. She bought most of her wardrobe there. My sister-in-law is in her late 60's and shops there. They cater to a much older crowd and for them to use a 40 year old as the ""face"" of their brand is wishful thinking on the consumer's part.

This was my thought exactly. I thought early 50's.

Re: The gorgeous Chico's model

Chico's have ""branded"" themselves to appeal to Baby Boomers. I recently went into their store and had no idea what their sizes were. I found it ridiculous and kind of an insult to my intelligence to tell me I am a size 00. Everything was cut ridiculously big and reminded me of QVC's vanity sizing.

This Baby Boomer will be passing on their clothing.

I went to one of their stores once and hated their sizing thing, too.

And much of it struck me as "And then there's Maude".
