I think someone posted a photo of a shark in the waters after the hurricane. Beware.

Certain reporters thrive on this stuff. Jim Cantore comes to mind.

My daughter took down her hurricane shutters yesterday and there were frogs and small lizards behind them from the storm...

After viewing the 'shark in the street' video, I suspect it is the cleverly-manufactured work of a tik-tokker.

There have even been recent comments about the unnecessary risks these reporters take. Every time I see a reporter on location in a hurricane I scream at tv if they aren't at least wearing goggles and a helmut. This morning I saw a palm tree trunk that had been split in two by a sharp piece of wood. The media need to stop this nonsense before a reporter is killed.

We send reporters into active war zones where they contend with violent evil-doers. They, too, apparently volunteer to go, I listened to Jim Canori explain how he and his cameraman set up for their reports. Rarely do the reporters from the battlefieds try to guarantee us they have a path to safety.
I like to think I live safely, but truthfully safety can be an illusion.

This part of FL is to devastating and my heart goes out to the people. I hope the majority of people got out safely before Ian hitl. I could not live in FL with all the hurricanes, hot humid weather and big bugs and gators. South Carolina or North Carolina sounds like it is a little safer.

Except South & North Carolinas are now in Ian path.

Alligators tend to avoid people unless they are used to being fed by ill-advised tourists. They then associate "people" with "food."
I see that on the channel I watch, most reporters were in parking lots or balconys overlooking them, which are not alligator hangouts. (Alligators are essentially linked to dinosaurs, but they are not unwary. Unless they have been fed, they avoid people.)

And the Federal Goverment. Without federal funds, there will be no rebuilding.
