HST said it best,"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

I think most of us intend it to be "constructive criticism," and not mean-spirited. If enough of us voice our opinions, perhaps some changes for-the-better will be made...

But that's just it. Which opinions do they decide to take since each is different?

They can use the STANDARDIZED dress codes that big businesses and in particular the television industry.uses. Does your local news team dress like they are going to the beach....or looked like they were running late for work and just got out of bed....I'm sorry but that's how Ive seen a couple of QVC hosts dress on occasion....Its one thing to be casual if you work in an office where no one sees you---but when you are viewed by millions of people it comes with the territory regarding appropriate appearance!

The main focus of QVC is to sell products---the hosts are sales people---if what the hosts wears is distracting to the viewer and puts the emphasis on the hosts instead of the merchandise it's a problem! When you work in TV you get all kinds of critques and there are certain expectations, it comes with the job and the big buck salary they're pulling down. Customers have a right to provide feedback, but those that arent constructive and are nothing more than nasty, rude, and downright mean are already against the Forum Guidelines.

I guess I misunderstood this thread. I didn't know it was about having a standardized dress code on TV and at QVC.
I will bow out after I say that I see some news teams dressed like they are going to stand on the corner. That...I have a problem with.

The television industry uses standardized dress codes? I had no idea. In any event, I guess I have been lucky that I have never been "distracted" by what a host was wearing. I don't watch home shopping a lot and I certainly don't watch it to pick it apart.

A newscaster is way different than a salesperson on a shopping channel. The difference is that the news is way more serious than a host on a shopping channel so where is the need to have the same standards of dress!! I would have no problem with newscasters wearing jeans and casual clothes just so they report the news accurately!!
I still say that those who have the antiquated view of dress standards for the hosts are just a very small percentage of the posters who do not and will not accept that the world is constantly changing and is way different now than when they were young. If a business wants to get a younger viewer and customer, they have to grow with times. Shopping Channels are trying to move from being thought of as as only for senior citizens and want younger customers to actually see what they are selling and having fuddy duddy boring clothed hosts won't attract them!!

Like in any situation, the majority rules with their opinion!

And the majority of customers who purchase probably don't even know, or care, that these forums exist. But the maybe-customers, mostly-not customers (by their own words) who post here are positive that their opinion controls, or should control, QVC's decisions on everything.
LM*O.
In percentage terms, those who serially/periodically post to the forums about the hosts' clothing, hair, make-up, nails, feet, and etc. are easily less than 1% of active, purchasing customers.
"They'd better change or I won't buy!"
But hundreds of thousands of other people do buy. End of story for QVC.
