Re: The Nerve Of Some People.....

[ Edited ]

@NicksmomESQ  WOW! That's awful to have been awakened that way! As others have noted, she obviously has something affecting her mental  health. I too, have sympathy for the children, but I also wonder if she is experiencing a mental breakdown of sorts from the stress, and in need of professional help.

It's difficult to think someone of sound mind would impose in that manner, but extreme stress can cause people to behave in extreme ways. Her willingness to "drop" her daughter off with neighbors, and potentially expose her and or others to the virus, speaks volumes.   My thoughts return to the children, and for their sake and hers, I hope this is an isolated incident.

Re: The Nerve Of Some People.....

Guess what ignorant next door neighbor?  YOUR kids are YOUR responsibility, NOT mine! You are the one who procreated, YOU are the one who is responsible for caring for them!  GET OVER YOURSELF!

That would have been my response to her phone call.

Some people are under a lot of stress some handle it better than others.  If this episode is out of character for her maybe something is wrong.  A lot of people are suffering mentally.  Are the kids all ok?

@NicksmomESQ - what I really don't get is why she thought it would be ok to drop the child off at your house. Has this occurred before? So odd. 💗

Why would she think you'd have any interest in watching her grandkids? Have you done it before? That is so bizarre!

Re: The Nerve Of Some People.....

@NicksmomESQ I had another question, if you are still reading.  You said she only wanted to drop her daughter off...but she has her two nephews, also?  What was she going to do with them?

Or perhaps they don't live with her...they get dropped off for "school" ?

@Snooky60   @alicedee  In the past she has dropped her daughter in my lap & asked me to watch her, pick her up at the bus stop etc. I put an end to it about a year ago.DH felt she was taking advantage of me.

Last year I asked her to drive me to my mechanic,10 minutes away, so I can pick up my car. She suggested I call an Uber. After that I stopped helping her out.

I will say that she appears to be a good mother. Her daughter appears happy. I think she feels that everyone should be willing to help make her life easier.I think that you shouldn't have kids if you can't take care of them.

Exactly @Snooky60 . If someone started out with "I have a favor to ask of you", I'd hear them out, but this is so presumptuous coming from a neighbor.

@alicedee  Her twin nephews are dropped off during the week by their parents who are essential workers. She's only been working from home & schooling since the schools were closed.

Re: The Nerve Of Some People.....

This is just another example of what the virus is exposing. Some people can not handle their own children and responsibility.

Having kids at home is too much for them to cope with. It is a me, me factor. It is my needs and work come first.

Your neighbor can not handle life as it is now and wants someone else to be responsible for her obligations as a parent. She is responsible as a parent and as a worker to perform both jobs.

Hello neighbor, it is your mommy time. Grow up and be a responsible adult.

Block the number. Avoid the neighbor.

That was not nerve it was thinking absolute entitlement on her part.
