The Mid-Atlantic weather this weekend

We were supposed to be at the beach this weekend.

Even though I'm sad we can't go, I'm listening to the wind howling right now, watching the temperature drop, and hoping people are not stuck on the flooded roads, both here and there.

This isn't even an effect from the hurricane, it's from another storm.

I didn't commit us to anything here because we weren't supposed to be here. So I had sweet tea tonight and watched a baseball game on TV with DH. Shouldn't have had the sweet tea - I love it, but I'll be up all night!

Did you ever have plans for a weekend that fell through or were cancelled and you get to stay home? Did you relax or use the time productively? It's supposed to be bad here tomorrow too, so I'm kind of giving myself the excuse to sleep in and relax tomorrow!

Everyone in the path of these storms take care and be SAFE!!

@beach-mom

I think I know of what you speak.  Although the A/C has still been up and running, yesterday it got very chilly.  I went to get my allergy shot after school, thinking no one would be there and I could get in and out.  Of course, I was a drowned rat by the time I got home from running around in the monsoon and my feet felt about 20 degrees colder than the rest of my body.  I ended up getting changed, putting on my winter socks and donning a fleece lined robe.  Today I'm proctoring the S.A.T., so I'm hoping that I don't need a canoe to get home.  Our street used to be tree lined, but apparently the builder selected a poor match for our climate, and most of the trees have been taken out because of their propensity to fall over.  My neighbor is still hanging on to his, and I'm worried that with all of this rain I'll come home and find it in my house.

lola - I hope your neighbor's tree was OK and you didn't get too wet! I thought about you Saturday while you were proctoring the SAT. My best friend's son took it that day!

I think we were all drowned rats this weekend, but we didn't have it as bad as the posters who live in SC. The rain here stopped late last night, but the wind was still bad early today. My "free" weekend turned into anything but. So much for relaxing! I thought I'd get to sleep in Saturday morning, and I did a little, so that was nice. DD took advantage of our being home and wanted me to go shopping with her - OK, SURE she had to twist my arm! LOL! We were able to make a memorial service this afternoon that we thought would be scheduled thisTuesday or Wednesday. I got the e-mail Friday afternoon, and I would have felt terrible if we had missed it.

I've been freezing all weekend, but now I hear it's going to be in the 70's later this week!

I'm ending my night by ordering Isaac's boots! Hope you have a good week! Smiley Happy

Safety to all.  Pets and animals, too.  Heart

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
