I'm watching  the original Grinch. Cartoon one. I love getting in the spirit of the year with these shows and the music.  Do you have a favorite or even traditional thing you like to do?

I love the Grinch and Charlie Brown Christmas, esp. when Linus quotes the gospel of Luke-so beautiful and magical.

Well we watched Charlie Brown's Christmas a few nights ago and another Charlie Brown show right after that one.  Love the spirit of the holiday that is the story behind Charlie Brown and all of his friends.

Oh course the best loved is the movie 'A Christmas Story'.  We never miss this movie.  In fact we just saw a news story about it just 5 minutes ago on our morning news.  You know this took place in Cleveland Ohio.  There's a story about it in our morning newspaper too.  The house was bought and turned into a bed & breakfast!  Still intact as we knew and LOVE it as it is in the movie.

I have to watch " A Christmas Carol, ", but it has to be the one from the 50's starring Alistar Sim.   It really puts me in the Christmas spirit.

For me it's a Charlie Brown Christmas and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation..

A little OT, but when my sisters and I were in our teens, twenties and thirties (and way before online shopping existed), Black Friday was the traditional start to our Christmas season.  One of us would buy a bigggg box of chocolate candy that we kept in the car to give us the energy we needed to keep up the pace of shopping till we dropped..LoL.  Driving from one store to the next, we would stuff our faces with the chocolate so that we didn't have to stop shopping.  It became a family tradition that I remember with the biggest smile.

The original television animated versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer have been favorites of mine since I first saw them as a wide- eyed child.  I own both on DVD and watch at any time of year when I need a moment of total escape comfort.  Of course at this time of year I always slip in a couple of viewings.

Another movie I enjoy watching at this time of year is While You Were Sleeping. It's not a true Christmas film, but the timeline of the story is from the week of Christmas Day to early new year.

Watched this with the kids every year until I guess it wasn't available anymore. Loved it.

I LOVE the Grinch!  I had to laugh a lot last night watching him and thinking about the thread about people who don't like Christmas that's been going strong around here!  Woman LOL

I hope some of those little old hearts find it in themselves to grow bigger this year and enjoy the merriment!  LOL!!!!!
