Love this!

I'm turning 75 this week and I'm so grateful to be here. I have beaten cancer twice and still here. Ageing is definitely a gift not everyone gets.

@azgal  Early happy birthday!🎂🎈🎈What a WONDERFUL milestone to have achieved and congratulations also on beating that insidious disease!👍🏻👍🏻 I have lost several family members to it and am am SO glad you are able to be here chatting with us! 👍🏻😊

@hopi Welcome and WOW! THANK you soooo much for such a sweet post!🥰 It truly warmed my heart!❤️ Some days it is a struggle as my personality has been changing related to my illness. There are days when I will spar with a bear now!😂 I can get quite irritated and it will show which breaks my heart. My family is QUITE understanding but I HATE it when I say hurtful things! It does not happen often, but it DOES happen!😊

Sandy, another welcome back: You have been missed !!!

Whatever the definitive diagnosis, you are still journeying with us.  Not one of us knows what is around the corner, so please enjoy the potential for future beauty, comfort and love today.  The memory remains with the soul for eternity.

When I read how long it takes for you to post, I wondered if your device has a microphone so you could " talk " your post ideas.  Of course, sometimes the spoken words don't get perfectly " transcribed " to the screen and a little tweaking may be in order.

Maybe it would be worth a try if it works for you...

Wishing you the best of the best.

@jlkz WOW!!!! Your BEAUTIFUL post caught me off guard and is SOOOOOO appreciated!💖💖 I have been moved to tears after reading several beautiful posts; yours included!🥲 I signed on feeling a bit sorry for myself but will sign off with a warm heart and comforted soul!!! THANK you SO much!!!🥰

Several people including my dear brother and youngest daughter have made similar suggestions, but I have always taken great pride in my creative writing ability without the need for technology.🥰 I suppose I am hesitant because it is a stark reminder not only of where I am, but where I am headed in the future!☹️

Feeling sorry for the self is a most natural and normal occurrence: Do not beat yourself up over it.

The reluctance to use the simple microphone technology should be looked at:  What does it cost you to try it out ?  What happens when you reach out and touch others with your warmth...If you don't reach out, you deny others and yourself treasures.

We are all given gifts to be used in this world:  The gifts are unique to each of us.  What if there were no posters here for you to take a peek at today...?  Join / Rejoin this imperfect world and enjoy moments of laughter, questioning, sadness, hope, glory, surprises, even boredom ( Oh No, not here ! )....

You may  never know the impact of simple gestures.  Somewhere in my 81 years of management / adjunct professor / seminar leader, etc., I found that my instincts were a gift to be used for others.  It was driven home to me one day as I waited patiently in a checkout line at Macy's.  The middle-aged cashier was having a very bad day.

I was thirsty so when I got a bottle of soda, I got a second one and returned to the long line.  No one was in line behind me so I gave the soda to the cashier and asked how she was doing.  The flood gates opened:  her son had recently committed suicide and she was devastated.  I let her speak and asked anyone who approached if they could use another register.  They complied willingly.

The woman slowly regained her composure and I left.

@on the bay You are most welcome and THANK you so much for thinking of me!!! I think of our Forum Family some days and it puts a smile on my face; especially when I am feeling SORRY for myself!😊 Posting in chat does not come as easy for me as it once did! I make SO many mistakes that I must correct. It takes greater than 15-30 minutes; sometimes an hour or more to complete ONE post! I occasionally "peek" in and am glad I did today because I get to chat with posters like you!!😁

@jlkz 🤗🤗🤗 I reread this BEAUTIFUL, inspirational and eloquently written post post several times as it is SOOOOO comforting!💖💖💖 I concur with everything you said! Reading it comforts my soul and leaves me more content than when I signed on!!! I moved back to Colorado with my dear brother a few months past and he, too, is amazing!!! He is so patient me  and tells me I am my worst enemy and reminds me of how I enrich the lives of him and my children!

There are times when I wake up and am SO confused or disoriented I go back to sleep--hoping it is a bad dream! Those are the worst times. It happens off and on throughout the day.☹️ Some days it is not as noticeable; as was the case today, other days it is frequent and I do not do much of anything! My children always remind me of how much I still enrich their lives!❤️ I hold on to their sweet words when I feel sorry for myself. I do not know if I could endure this without them and my faith!❤️
