So interesting.  Just read an article about more of the "silver lining" of the virus.

Since - as it predicts - we will have another Great Depression - maybe even worse this time - this is a great opportunity for another New Deal - this time Green.

We can have massive government handouts for those who lost jobs and we can also spend massive amounts for Green improvements.

We can abolish gasoline driven cars.  Those still working - can mostly work from home - and everyone else can drive electric cars when they leave their solar powered houses.

No worries about cost.  And the air will be so much cleaner.

This is interesting information.  Where can I read this article?

@jellyBEAN  Interesting post.  I actually was 3 years old when Kennedy was shot so we are close in age.  I have a painted glass from the world's fair in 1964, my parents had gone to that!   As far as wondering what the future would hold for me....... Well I didn't marry the man I always thought I would (thankfully) LOL.   I have two kids instead of the 4 or 5 I thought I would have (thankfully) and I never thought I would go through a serious case of breast cancer and survive (thankfully).  I guess what I am getting at is life has been full of surprises, but I truly am thankful for all I have been blessed with and appreciate each day Smiley Happy

Nice post @LindaSal .  Also enjoyed @hckynut 's post.

The Future meant surviving each day and doing the best I could with what I had and going as far as I could with it. I relied on myself and my capabilities for doing it. I believed in myself and trusted no one other than myself for the future.

I expected nothing and what is happening now is just another moment in time and my attitude has not changed. I deal with what the situation is, as it is.

I thought there would be a lot more robots. Not just Roombas. And, probably influenced by Star Trek, I thought transporters would exist in some form by now. Maybe not transporting people, but objects at least.

Remember the giant computer in Desk Set that could answer reference questions? Well that came true with Google and voice assistants.

Self driving cars, when they get ubiquitous, are going to be a crazy leap forward. I'll bet fuel cells and advanced battery technology will also completely change the economy.

I'm confident that our future will be better. Human beings are inventive and helpful by nature. We always figure things out eventually. Sometimes after all the boneheaded ideas have been tried and failed first, but we always figure it out and move ahead.

The Jetsons is an amazing cartoon regarding creativity. It helps kids dream big. We children of the 60s saw a lot on the news - every evening was intense. Some of our cousins had polio. My oldest sis died of German measles. Most of our dads were either WW2 or Korean vets. Some of our brothers / cousins / classmates served in VietNam. My childhood was about the world changing and being angry. Social injustice and women's equality issues became real. Seems like America is either involved in overthrowing governments or fighting a war non-stop. We've been a politically divided country since I've been born. We pay to watch movies about viruses and disasters.

My focus isn't on current or future things I cannot control. It's about being wise for the present moment, grateful and living on hope and prayer. Taking small steps -- one day at a time.

@shoesnbags, it was a very sarcastic and snide post. No surprise there. Frankly, I would tend to be very much in favor of most of what posted, apparently from the dreaded lame stream media.

For some, they can't resist constantly making political jabs even on unrelated threads such as this one.

Yes I certainly have doubts about our ability to pay for it.  But you clearly do not - so maybe you can explain it.
