I believe people should remember you how you were alive not remember your dead body lying in a coffin. This is what happens to me from going to a funeral. Have not been to one in almost 14 yrs.

Michael Reagan's autobiography made if perfectly clear that he was treated like dirt by his father and step mother.
His own father spoke at his high school graduation and the DIDN'T recognize him after the event!!!
I think he did everything he could to get in the good graces of Ron & Nancy as an adult. Ultimately, he chose not to attend Nancy's funeral.
******************** In the article I read it did tell about Micheal's grievances. In the last article I read it told how he started to get some healing in the mid seventies when he faced his problems. It also mentioned that he and Nancy became close and friendly (not exact words but something to that effect) at some point later on. He also said that Nancy's life was all about Ronnie and his mother's life was all about her work. I wasn't trying to justify Nancy or Ronald.....I can see why these kids had problems. I was just happy, after reading that article, that it seems there has been forgiveness and reconciliation on all sides since President Reagan died.

In ref to Love Roses post, what I remember is not a public discussion of an abduction but a statement to the affect of go see the movie ET because "it" was just like that (paraphrasing of course). I found his endorsement and comment while in office, very strange and I wondered about it when he said it.

I read that Michael Reagan did not attend the funeral as he was in China on business.

It was a nice service.
They were a dysfunctional bunch. Reading their bios, both boys were expelled from their high schools and lasted only a short time in college. Maureen lasted a year in college. Patti had a 2 year affair starting in high school with her teacher. By all accounts they came to terms with their relationships with their parents. It's a shame it took the devastating illness and death of one parent to make it happen.
It has to be terribly difficult for children when their parents enjoy each other more than they do their family.

Ronald Reagan Sr. did love and care for Nancy. Children, well, you get all sorts in this life. Even in my uneventful family, everyone is different and not all get along.
While in office as Governor of CaliforniaMr. Reagan made the last Friday in September, NATIVE AMERICAN Remembrance Day. Native Americans could request the day off from employers though most employers never honored the decree.
This may be out there but - Mr. and Mrs. Reagan knew there were threats to the USA and the people of the planet. He did do things to promote technology for defense to defend AMERICA, My AMERICA, MY HOMELAND, against hostile forces.
He also included into his requests defense against hostile extra-terrestrial forces. Whether well known or not, he and Nancy were abducted one night and Mr. Reagan didn't like it and it made him very angry that we were going to have to deal with these inter-galactic low-life. He knew along with other heads of state that We Are Not Alone. Nancy stood by him and during their marriage to one another, no scandals of extra-marital affairs, etc.
Someone has flipped!!!!!!!!!!!

What business would have been more important than the funeral of his beloved stepmother? Especially since he was in town the day she passed and took the time to criticize others on social media for not planning on attending the funeral?
Sounds "fishy" to me.
