It is not disrespectful for Ron Jr. not to pray. If he is an atheist, then he doesn't believe that there is a God to pray to. Would you have him act like he is praying?

I wish the camera would stop cutting to Patti and Ron Jr.  They keep making a point to cut to them when they start praying.  Ron Jr. Is an outspoken atheist, and it looks so disrespectful that he isn't praying along with everyone else.

That son Ron Jr. has always been an odd ball.  His words and his sharing was odd but I think the others like some many just ignore him.

I think Ron Jr. is a nice man and well versed.   It's not easy to eulogize someone you loved.   He might not have wanted to share personal stories.   He's eloquent and has a beautiful voice.   I admire the Reagan children as they were individuals.

I'm not an athiest, but when my parents died, I didn't say out loud prayers.   I was deep in my own thoughts.   No one should judge anyone else's beliefs or way they pray.

Bless the Reagan family.    Patty looks so much like her Mom.   I thought the memorial was well done.

I wasn't saying that it was disrespectful OF him.  I was saying that it was disrespectful TO him, because they kept making a point to cut to him to show that he wasn't praying. This day was about Nancy, not Ron Jr., and it was annoying that the media was trying to make it a point to show that he wasn't praying.

I know NR was a first lady and I'm trying not to be judgemental, but for anyone to spend that kind of money to put someone in the ground is beyond me. It just goes to show you how different the rich are from the rest us or at the very least, me.

I loved all the stories. I know the kids and their parents had their moments...and appreicated that they kept it real. I love their love story but realize maybe the kids did not always feel... as they mentioned part of the circle sometimes....I am sad for that. Relationships are complicated and must be especially so when your father was first the Gov. for 2 terms and the President for 2 terms and having the world on your shoulders.

God Bless Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

Re: The Funeral

[ Edited ]

On such a day there is no need for any negative comments concerning the last tributes to Nancy Reagan.  If you can find nothing else to admire, think of the incredible relationship she shared with her husband Ronnie.  The two of them have often been an inspiration to me with my two pecious husbands - one who passed some years ago and the special man to whom I am currently married.

The funeral was lovely, beautiful words were spoken, wonderful misic was played and no one could have come away without feelings of warmth and caring.  RIP Nancy Reagan. You mattered to many. Well done.

@blackhole99 Much of Nancy's expenses were paid for by others.  You can reasearch the info.  I ask, if not here in the USA, then where would someone spend any money on a former first lady.
