@hckynut Thanks for the hernia update. I was wondering how you were doing.

I do not get the flu so I do not get a flu shot. My Aunt who is 94 never had a flu shot and she is still well and alive.

Noel, I don't recall saying anything about "fake news". That said, I see no reason for me giving an explanation for anything I said in my other post. It was meant to add information for those concerned about having a heart attack.

2 heart attacks here. #1 included Aspiration Pneumonia along with it.
It would do everyone more good to read all the Major Risk Factors for Heart Disease, and to do a personal inventory on how many of them include them. Working every single 1 of them that can be changed, for the better, would be be more valuable to them than concerning themselves with the latest media news on what increases their chances of having a heart attack.
If one chooses hearing and/or reading the media as a preference to their personal risks? Much of what hits the latest media is nothing new. Much of it falls in the category of "knowing your own risk factors", then pursuing using them, along with common sense, to make it less likely that they will suffer a heart attack.
Any and everything that lowers ones body's resistance can be a risk to many types of diseases, some not related to the heart. If their age falls in the higher numbers, what they have done to protect their body in previous years and decades, is a big factor. Changing something today, while still the smart thing to do, will have a minimal effect in comparison to what they have done in most of their "years gone by".
Concern yourself about your risks? Of course, as long as it is no more than just a "concern". Worrying about the possibility of getting the flu, thus having a heart attack? That is what I call "counterproductive", as worry itself, depending on the degree, may add to their risks factors.
Taking every media announcement too serious I have never known to be beneficial to very many people. Knowing and changing as many of the Heart Related Major Risk Factors as possible would be time much more well spent.
Personal update for those interested:
Hernia surgery recovery going as planned, no setbacks. Feeling better everyday and doing my daily routines that do do require be to exert my abdominal area more than my limited 15lb of any type pressure be it lifting, or pushing and pulling. See surgeon next Thursday any hoping to get the green light to go back to my ice skating once again.

@hckynut... I disagree with you regarding @Noel7 thread. It was meant to inform and teach. Exactly the same that you did when you posted about women having back pain with heart attacks in a different thread in 2016. If I had not seen your post, I probably would have never have gone to the ER when I had my first heart attack.
Someone here might read Noel's thread and experience chest pain with the flu and think it is just from coughing. Now they will think twice and make sure they get it checked out. Knowledge is power. Perfectly healthy people with few or no risk factors are having heart attacks from the flu. This is new information and I thank Noel for enlightening this entire forum.
Good to hear you are doing well after your surgery....

@Noel7 Is very careful when she posts medical information. She does her research very carefully as does @Trinity11

John,
You obviously had a problem with this risk being reported in the news.
Nowhere was it said people should WORRY.
The information is important for the reason I gave: IT COULD SAVE A LIFE.
I have no idea why the report bothered you. It's factual and already being implemented in some hospitals. I would have thought you would appreciate that.

Thanks @Noel7. I love reading your posts and have learned a lot from you. It is also nice to know someone else who is going through similar things. You have often written something here that really has cheered me up on a rough day. You have a lot of enthusiasm for living and there are times when I haven't told you so this is a good time to do so. I used to be a lot more cheerful and excited about living ......you help me to bring that back.
