I just got this breaking news in my in box:

The flight data recorder from AirAsia Flight QZ8501 has been retrieved from the Java Sea, said Mardjono Siswosuwarno, the chief Indonesian investigator into the crash.

The plane's cockpit voice recorder hasn't been found yet.

While the have not (yet) found the voice recorder, the information on the data recorder, will give a lot of answers as to what happened. At least, the families will have some answers.

Good. I hope and PRAY the families get answers. And I really think its about time they have live streaming from planes. Its ridiculous in this modern day and age that they have to find a black box or there are no answers! We have all this modern technology. Lets use it!

Well, I still want the boxes to be on any plane that I am a passenger on.

I was so happy to hear this news. It's a horrible shame the global airline industry won't adopt technology to transmit real-time data, particularly for flights over or near large bodies of water.

They do know that the voice recorder is under sizeable debris but they are working on getting to it and bringing it to the surface.
