I love liver and onions but I refuse to cook it. I only have it when dining out.

I thought it was common knowledge that most food items should be washed before cooking, even bagged salad mixes. Food isn't produced, grown, packaged like it used to be. We get our supermarket fruits and vegetables from around the world, meat, fowl and fish from Asia, hormone injections, filthy conditions, etc. Do I believe if a piece of meat hit the floor behind closed doors in a supermarket, or if he scratches his nether regions, the butcher will wash it? H$#^ no!

Fortunately the grocery store where I shop has the butcher area out in the open, for all to see.

My father loved liver and onions. I hated the smell all my life. It turns out, it's not good for you. I think the smell of it cooking is a warning.

I used to love liver and onions the way my mom cooked it. I haven't had it in years.

I think mad cow disease is carried in the cows organs.........good reason to leave liver alone...................................raven

I'll check into that, Noel. My husband only orders it maybe twice a year though. When I first tried Weight Watchers after my first son was born, weekly liver and onions was strongly recommended. Yuk.

Liver has not entered my home in over 30 years and when it did, it was for the cat. I held my nose and tried not to gag but she had to have it.

If Mr. kdgn wants liver and onions he can have it when he's eating out and I'm not with him. I don't think he likes it though.

I haven't seen liver offered in a store in years. I'm grateful for that bit of mercy.
