The alternate juror who is speaking out said something to the effect that they didn't have enough substantial evidence to convict her of murder or manslaughter. He said they didn't "prove" their case.
Yet, this same jury is willing to accept that George Anthony abused Casey and/or covered up the murder without any evidence or proof by the defense.
I'm confused about this irony.
Also, the defense made a big deal in their closing statement that this case was not about "winning" and accused the prosecution of that. Yet, after the verdict, the defense jumped for joy in the courtroom and then partied at a local restaurant in full view of the same TV cameras they tried to hide from the other day at the same restaurant, after the case went to the jury.
It sure seemed to me it was about "winning" to them and they let it be known they were celebrating. They could have just as easily had their "celebratory" party in a more private setting.
I don't know, these two things just bothered me.
