I wasn't supposed to come home for lunch today because we were having a big potluck at work. However, I decided to run home and close my windows down some, since it was pouring rain at noon and I remembered I had left some of the windows up about a foot. I planned to just run home and take care of that, then run back so I could eat. Well, when I went to put the window in my bedroom down, I saw lots of little ants in the windowsill and thought I'd spray them with Raid, then close the room off to the cats before I left to come back. So, do you think I could find Veddy when I was ready to leave? HECK no. I didn't want to lock her in my room all afternoon with that ant spray and no way to get food, water or to the litterbox. Me, Gracie and Radar set out on an expedition to find her, with trusty flashlight and me calling her in every sweet way I could. When I looked under the couch and all the beds, they did too (it was soooo cute!!) No Veddy. Not in any closet, under any bed, under the dining room table, in the bathtub, NOWHERE. Time was ticking away and I had to get. I therefore had no choice but to wipe off the windowsill in my room quick, slam the window all the way down and head out.

I worried and stewed about that darned cat all afternoon, envisioned that she had crawled off somewhere to die, had gotten stuck somewhere in the house and died, you name it. So imagine the amusement on my face when I rushed in my front door after getting off work and there lay the Queen sprawled out in my recliner, while the two subjects, Gracie and Radar, lay hot and miserable on the carpet in front of the fan. I still have absolutely NO idea where Veddy was hiding, and I'm sure she was more than a little annoyed that I kept calling her - and calling and calling and CALLING her. LOLOL!!!
