I've encountered too many people who detest pecan pie.  And some people have problems with nuts.

Apple is a "safe" choice.

Of course, there's always a large cookie assortment platter...

60 ct cookie trays are back at Costco! I don't think I've seen these since 2019. These platters are now $22.99

@just bee :  I just picked up that assortment of cookies today at Costco............

@Hoovermom

Bringing one of these to work tonight... Woman LOL

Neither.  Coconut Cream.

@Magicrat I knew some old ladies who could make such wonderful coconut cream pies!  I think that probably is THE best pie ever IF it is made the old fashioned way by someone who isn't afraid of salt, fat and sugar and knows what they are doing!

Ditto for banana cream pies! Maybe a vanishing dessert.

@candyagain One year my mom made SIX pies and wonderful choices.  Christmas Eve she announced the pies and then said "But we are eating the banana cream because the bananas will go bad."  There were six people and the pie was already cut for six.

I said but I don't like banana pie and my sweet mother said "Well I don't care, you are eating the banana pie and after we open gifts you can have what you want."

I have no choice.  My husband has to have pumpkin pie.  I hate it.  But I have to make it.  So I buy a chrerry pie on the side and have some of it.

no pumpkin, no apple, no pecan, no berry no pie this year, lol. I usually have 4 or five desserts.   It was a low key affair, we winged it. But, I treated us to Ina Garten Carrot Cake with marscapone frosting from Goldbelly this year.  Just one dessert, lol that's a first.  It was delicious.  Will freeze few slices left over.
