Just Monday my friend was complaining about how at least 10 years ago a friend of her's came for Thanksgiving dinner and ate a little (saying she had a lot of people to visit and had to eat a little at each).

 

Then after she ate she got up and left.

 

When I used to have these huge dinners it never bothered how long or how many people stayed the whole time.  There were so many people (some I didn't even know but were AA members with my little sisters) there.

 

I think everyone is different.  I apologize because I don't understand.  What tradition are you starting?  I thought you meant you wanted to have something at your house and have everyone come....but I think I'm wrong?

 

You seem like a very considerate person because you realize you have a lot of considerate and nice friends.

 

I think it's up to the people you are seeing.  Again, some people don't like it when other's get up and leave but sometimes people don't care.
